Visitation & Follow-up Ministry
This ministry is very challenging and required much discipline, yet very rewarding. It is done throughout the week depending on the need, but mostly on Thursday evenings, Saturday mornings, and Sunday afternoon. This ministry is set-up to follow-up on first time guests and absentees and for discipleship of new believers or members of the church. It is also an excellent ministry to utilize in sharing the precious Gospel of our Lord. It focuses also in providing comfort to the sick, praying with those in need, encouraging members to faithfulness and teaching new believers in the basics of Christianity such as believer’s baptism, bible reading and prayer.
It is our prayer that the Lord will continue to establish and build up this vital ministry of our church. Many people have visited our church and have been led to the saving knowledge of Jesus outside, but most often, they were not followed up to become a part of IBBC. Other churches have reaped a great number, others fell by the wayside, and some, went back to their old ways.
Here, in IBBC, we believe that our task isn’t over the moment a person trusts in the Lord as his Savior. But we believe, it is a continuous process until we see that the new convert is reaching others for Christ. We have seen several people and families become part of our ministry as a result of the visitation and follow-up ministry. Visitation and follow-up are done by our Pastoral staff, some of our preachers and IBBA staff & by some of our faithful and committed church members.
In conjunction to this ministry, new members ushered to the church are offered with the New converts’ class on Sunday at 9:30 am. A separate class for both men and women are held. Our curriculum for this new convert class is the Like A Tree Discipleship compiled by our Senior Pastor, Dr. J. Hernes M. Abante.
